Product Description

• Active Ingredient: Recombinant Human Erythropoietin Alfa (Epoetin Alfa).
• Mechanism of Action: It mimics the natural hormone erythropoietin, which is produced by the kidneys, to increase the production of red blood cells in the bone marrow, thereby raising hemoglobin levels.
• Form: It is a prescription medicine administered as an injection, typically either under the skin (subcutaneous) or into a vein (intravenous), by a healthcare professional. 

• Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD): In both adults and children, including those on dialysis.
• Cancer Chemotherapy: To reduce the need for blood transfusions in patients with certain types of cancer.
• HIV Infection Treatment: For patients receiving zidovudine (AZT), which can suppress bone marrow function.
• Major Surgery: Sometimes used before major elective surgeries (like orthopedic procedures) in high-risk patients to reduce the need for blood transfusions.
