Product Description

• Active Ingredient: Acalabrutinib 100mg.
• Drug Class: It is a Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor, a type of targeted therapy for cancer.
• Mechanism of Action: Acalabrutinib works by blocking the action of the abnormal protein (BTK) that promotes the growth and survival of cancer cells. This disruption of signals helps to slow the progression of the cancer.
• Uses: It is used in adults for the treatment of specific blood cancers:
  • Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), particularly in patients who have received at least one prior treatment.
  • Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).
  • Small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL).
• Dosage and Administration: The capsule is typically taken orally, with or without food, as advised by a doctor. It must be swallowed whole and not crushed, chewed, or broken.
• Common Side Effects: Common side effects include headache, diarrhea, fatigue, muscle and joint pain, anemia, a low count of white blood cells (neutropenia), and upper respiratory tract infections.
• Important Precautions: The medication can increase the risk of bleeding and infection, and regular blood tests are required to monitor blood cell counts and organ function during treatment.
