• Active Ingredients & Function: The medication combines two active components:
  • Cefixime is a cephalosporin antibiotic that works by stopping the formation of the bacterial cell wall, which is essential for bacterial survival.
  • Potassium Clavulanate (or clavulanic acid) is a beta-lactamase inhibitor. It helps reduce bacterial resistance to cefixime, thereby enhancing the antibiotic's effectiveness against a broader spectrum of bacteria, including those that might otherwise be resistant.
• Uses: This combination is prescribed for treating a range of moderate to severe bacterial infections, such as:
