Piclib 100mg Capsule isananti-cancer medicationcontainingpalbociclib, a targeted therapy used in combination with hormonal treatments to treat specific types of advanced or metastatic breast cancer. It is not traditional chemotherapy.
Piclib is primarily used for:
- Hormone receptor-positive (HR+)breast cancer
- Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (HER2-)breast cancer
- Cancer that hasspread to other organs(metastatic or advanced)
Mechanism of Action
The active ingredient, palbociclib, is a cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) 4 and 6 inhibitor. These proteins are responsible for cell growth and division. By blocking CDK4 and CDK6, Piclib effectively puts a "brake" on the cancer cell cycle, slowing the growth and division of cancer cells and preventing them from spreading further.
