Product Description

• Mechanism of Action: The medication works by stimulating the bone marrow to produce more red blood cells. This increases the body's hemoglobin levels and oxygen-carrying capacity, thereby treating anemia and reducing symptoms like fatigue and weakness.
• Uses: It is primarily used to treat anemia caused by various conditions, including:
  • Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), especially in patients on dialysis.
  • Cancer chemotherapy.
  • Treatment for HIV infection with zidovudine.
  • To reduce the need for blood transfusions before major surgeries (like orthopedic procedures).
• Administration: Renocrit 2000 IU is administered as an injection, either under the skin (subcutaneously) or into a vein (intravenously), as directed by a healthcare professional. It may come in a pre-filled syringe (PFS). The dose and method of administration depend on the patient's condition and body weight.
• Storage: The injection must be stored in a refrigerator (between 2C and 8C) but should not be frozen. It is often allowed to reach room temperature before use.
• Common Side Effects: Common side effects can include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, nasal congestion, headache, and pain at the injection site.
