Product Description

• Active Ingredient: Abiraterone acetate (250 mg)

• Therapeutic Class: Anti-neoplastic agent (anticancer)
• Mechanism of Action: Abiraterone blocks the enzyme CYP17, which reduces the production of male hormones (androgens) like testosterone in the testes, adrenal glands, and prostate tumor tissue. Lowering androgen levels can slow or stop the growth of prostate cancer, which is often stimulated by these hormones.
• Uses: It is used to treat metastatic prostate cancer in adult men, often in combination with a corticosteroid such as prednisone or prednisolone to help manage side effects. It may also be used in earlier stages of the cancer along with other hormone therapies. 

• Administration: Abirapro should be taken on an empty stomach with water, either at least one hour before eating or two hours after eating, because food can increase the amount of the medication absorbed, potentially leading to side effects. Swallow the tablet whole without crushing, breaking, or chewing it.
• Monitoring: Your doctor will monitor your liver function, blood pressure, and blood potassium levels throughout your treatment.
• Pregnancy/Women: This medication is not intended for use by women or children. Pregnant women or women who could become pregnant should avoid handling the tablets without protective gloves due to the potential risk to a developing baby.
