• Active Ingredient: Palbociclib (75mg)
• Therapeutic Class: Anti-neoplastic agent / Cyclin-Dependent Kinase (CDK) inhibitor

• Usage: Treatment of hormone receptor (HR)-positive, human epidermal growth factor 2 (HER2)-negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer.
• Administration: It is typically used in combination with other hormonal anticancer therapies (like an aromatase inhibitor or fulvestrant).
• Mechanism of Action: The medication blocks specific proteins (CDK4 and CDK6) to stop the cancer cell cycle and prevent uncontrolled cell division and spread.

• Take one capsule once daily for 21 consecutive days.
• Followed by a 7-day break from the medication.
• Capsules should be swallowed whole with food at the same time each day. Do not open, chew, or crush them.

• Fatigue/weakness
• Hair loss or thinning
• Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea
• Rash and dry skin
• Decreased appetite
• Low blood cell counts (anemia, neutropenia), which increases infection risk
• Stomatitis (mouth sores/inflammation)

• Blood Monitoring: Regular blood tests are necessary during treatment to monitor blood cell counts.
• Pregnancy/Breastfeeding: The medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• Contraception: Effective birth control must be used by both male and female patients during treatment and for a period after the last dose.
• Interactions: Avoid consuming grapefruit/grapefruit juice and St. John's wort while on this medication.
• Serious Symptoms: Contact a doctor immediately if experiencing signs of infection (fever, chills), difficulty breathing, chest pain, or unusual bleeding/bruising, as these could indicate serious side effects like lung inflammation or blood disorders.
