Product Description

• Active Ingredient: Pazopanib 400 mg.
• Mechanism of Action: The medication works by blocking specific proteins (tyrosine kinases, including VEGF receptors) that are involved in the growth and spread of cancer cells and the development of new blood vessels that feed tumors (angiogenesis). This action helps to slow down tumor growth and progression.
• Indications:
  • First-line treatment for advanced renal cell carcinoma (a type of kidney cancer).
  • Treatment of certain subtypes of advanced soft tissue sarcoma (cancer in muscles, fat, blood vessels, or other supportive tissues) in adults who have received prior chemotherapy.
• Administration: The tablets are for oral use only and should be swallowed whole with water, not crushed or chewed. They must be taken on an empty stomach, at least one hour before or two hours after a meal, to ensure proper absorption. It is usually taken once a day, at the same time each day.
• Common Side Effects: Common side effects can include diarrhea, high blood pressure (hypertension), nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, weight loss, headache, fatigue, and changes in hair color or skin pigmentation.
• Important Precautions:
  • It may cause serious side effects, including liver damage, heart problems, bleeding issues, and gastrointestinal perforation. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, liver function, and blood cell counts is essential during treatment.
  • Grapefruit or grapefruit juice should be avoided while taking this medication.
  • It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and effective contraception must be used during treatment and for some time after the last dose.
