• Active Ingredient: Olaparib 150 mg.
• Mechanism of Action: The medication works by blocking an enzyme called PARP (poly-ADP-ribose polymerase), which normally helps repair damaged DNA in cells. In cancer cells that rely heavily on this repair pathway (especially those with BRCA mutations), inhibiting PARP prevents DNA repair, leading to cell death and slowing tumor growth.
• Uses: It is used in the treatment of various cancers, typically as a maintenance therapy after platinum-based chemotherapy has shown a response.
