• Active Ingredient: Trastuzumab 150 mg.
• Manufacturer: Hetero Healthcare Limited.
• Mechanism of Action: Trastuzumab is a recombinant IgG1 monoclonal antibody that selectively binds to the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) protein found on the surface of some cancer cells. By attaching to HER2, it blocks the signals that cause the cancer cells to grow and divide, and also helps the body's immune system destroy them.
• Uses: It is used to treat adults with:
  • HER2-positive early-stage or metastatic breast cancer.
  • HER2-positive metastatic adenocarcinoma of the stomach or gastroesophageal junction.
• Administration: The injection is administered by a qualified healthcare professional, usually as an intravenous infusion in a hospital or clinic setting. It should not be self-administered. The initial infusion can take up to 90 minutes, with subsequent infusions potentially shorter if well-tolerated.
• Storage: It must be stored in a refrigerator at 2C to 8C (36F to 46F) and protected from light, avoiding freezing. 

• Heart Problems: Herti may cause serious or life-threatening heart problems, including heart failure. Regular heart monitoring (e.g., LVEF assessment) is required before and during treatment.
• Pregnancy: It is not recommended during pregnancy as it can cause fetal harm or death to the unborn baby. Women of childbearing potential must use effective contraception during treatment and for at least 7 months after the last dose.
• Infusion Reactions and Lung Damage: Serious infusion-related reactions and severe lung damage can occur. Patients are monitored closely during and after the infusion for symptoms like fever, chills, difficulty breathing, or swelling.
• Common Side Effects:
  • Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
  • Headache, fatigue, and insomnia.
  • Chills, fever, cough, and rash.
  • Decreased blood cell counts, increasing susceptibility to infections.
