Product Description

1. What is Eleftha 440 mg used for?
It is used for certain HER2-positive breast cancers and HER2-positive metastatic gastric/gastroesophageal-junction cancers.

2. What is the composition of Eleftha 440 mg?
Each multiple-use vial contains Trastuzumab 440 mg.

3. How does Eleftha work?
Trastuzumab binds to the HER2 receptor on cancer cells and inhibits HER2-related growth signalling, helping slow or stop the growth of HER2-positive cancer cells.

4. Is Eleftha a chemotherapy medicine?
No. It is a targeted biological therapy/monoclonal antibody. It may, however, be given together with chemotherapy depending on the treatment protocol.

5. How is Eleftha 440 mg administered?
The Eleftha 440 mg lyophilized formulation is administered by intravenous infusion under the supervision of an appropriately trained healthcare professional.

6. How often is Eleftha given?
The dosing schedule depends on the cancer and treatment regimen. Trastuzumab may be administered weekly or every 3 weeks according to the oncologist's prescribed protocol.

7. What are the common side effects?
Possible side effects include chills, fever, nausea, headache, rash, fatigue, vomiting and infection. Infusion-related reactions may also occur.

8. Can Eleftha affect the heart?
Yes. Trastuzumab can affect cardiac function. Doctors may monitor heart function before and during treatment, particularly in patients with cardiac risk factors.

9. Can Eleftha be used for HER2-negative cancer?
No. Trastuzumab-based treatment is intended for cancers that demonstrate HER2 overexpression/amplification, as determined by appropriate testing.

10. How should Eleftha 440 mg be stored?
It should generally be stored refrigerated at 2C8C and must not be frozen. Cold-chain handling is important.

11. Can Eleftha be used during pregnancy?
Trastuzumab can cause fetal harm. Pregnancy and contraception should be discussed with the treating oncologist before and during treatment.

12. Is Eleftha 440 mg a prescription medicine?
Yes. It is a prescription oncology medicine and should be administered under appropriate medical supervision
