उत्पाद वर्णन

Teriparatide (Terifrac) is usedto treat osteoporosis in men and women who have a high risk of bone fracture. Teriparatide forms new bone, increases bone mineral density and bone strength, and as a result reduces the chance of getting a fracture (broken bone). Common side effects of teriparatide include: abdominal pain.

  1. What is Teriparatide?Teriparatide is a medication used to treat osteoporosis, a condition characterized by weakened bones that are more prone to fractures.

  2. How does Teriparatide work?Teriparatide is a synthetic form of parathyroid hormone (PTH), which helps regulate calcium and phosphate levels in the body. It works by stimulating bone formation, increasing bone density, and reducing the risk of fractures.

  3. What conditions does Teriparatide treat?Teriparatide is primarily used in the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and in men at high risk of fractures. It may also be prescribed for individuals who have experienced a fracture due to osteoporosis or who have osteoporosis caused by long-term use of corticosteroid medications.

  4. How is Teriparatide administered?Teriparatide is administered as a subcutaneous injection (under the skin), typically once daily. The injection is usually given in the thigh or abdomen. Your healthcare provider will provide instructions on how to properly administer the injection.

  5. What are the common side effects of Teriparatide?Common side effects of Teriparatide may include nausea, dizziness, headache, leg cramps, and injection site reactions (such as pain, redness, or swelling). Rarely, Teriparatide may increase the risk of developing osteosarcoma (a type of bone cancer).

  6. Who should not take Teriparatide?Teriparatide may not be suitable for everyone. It is generally not recommended for individuals with a history of bone cancer, Paget's disease of bone, hypercalcemia (high blood calcium levels), or individuals at increased risk of osteosarcoma. It's important to discuss your medical history with your healthcare provider before starting Teriparatide.

  7. Is Teriparatide safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding?Teriparatide is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to potential risks to the fetus or infant. If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, discuss the potential risks and benefits of Teriparatide with your healthcare provider.

  8. How long is Teriparatide treatment typically prescribed for?Teriparatide treatment is usually prescribed for up to 2 years. After completing a course of Teriparatide, your healthcare provider may recommend transitioning to a different osteoporosis medication to maintain bone health.
