• Active Ingredient: Eribulin mesylate, a synthetic analogue of halichondrin B.
• Mechanism of Action: It works by interfering with the microtubule structures that cancer cells need to divide and multiply. This action blocks the cancer cell's growth cycle (specifically at the G2/M phase) and eventually causes the cancer cells to die (apoptosis).
• Uses:
  • Metastatic Breast Cancer: For adults whose cancer has spread after receiving other anticancer medicines.
  • Liposarcoma: A rare cancer originating in fatty tissue, typically used after prior treatment with an anthracycline-containing regimen.
• Administration: It is administered by a healthcare professional as an injection into a vein (intravenously), typically on days 1 and 8 of a 21-day treatment cycle. It should not be self-administered.

• Weakness and fatigue.
• Nausea, constipation, or diarrhea.
• Hair loss (alopecia), which is generally reversible.

• Loss of appetite and weight loss. 

• Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Teceris is unsafe during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as it may cause fetal harm. Both men and women must use effective contraception during and for a period after treatment to prevent pregnancy.
• Medical Conditions: Inform your doctor if you have heart disease, liver, or kidney problems, as dose adjustments or close monitoring may be necessary.
• Monitoring: Regular blood tests are required to monitor blood cell counts, liver function, and electrolyte levels during treatment.
• Infections: This medicine can lower your immune system, so report any signs of infection (fever, sore throat, cough) immediately.
