• Active Ingredient: Acalabrutinib 100mg.
• Drug Class: Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor; a type of cancer growth inhibitor or antineoplastic.
• Mechanism of Action: It works by blocking the action of an abnormal protein (BTK) in cancer cells that tells them to grow and divide uncontrollably. This disruption of signals slows the progression of the cancer and causes the cancer cells to die.
• Uses: It is prescribed for adults with:
  • Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), especially in patients who have received at least one prior treatment.
  • Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).
  • Small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL).
• Administration: The capsule is typically taken orally, with or without food, as advised by a doctor. It should be swallowed whole; do not crush, chew, or break it.
• Common Side Effects:
  • Anemia (low red blood cell count)
  • Neutropenia (low white blood cell count)
  • Thrombocytopenia (low platelet level)
  • Headache
  • Diarrhea
  • Fatigue or weakness
  • Musculoskeletal (bone, muscle, or joint) pain
  • Upper respiratory tract infection 

• Bleeding: The medication increases the risk of bleeding. Patients should inform their doctor before any planned surgeries or dental procedures and avoid other blood thinners unless specifically instructed.
• Infections: It can increase susceptibility to infections. Patients should report any signs of infection, such as fever or a sore throat, to their doctor immediately.
• Pregnancy/Breastfeeding: It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, as it may harm the fetus or infant.
• Grapefruit: Avoid eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice while on this medication, as it can increase the drug levels in the blood.
