Product Description

• Active Ingredient: Capecitabine 500 mg.
• Therapeutic Class: Antineoplastic (anti-cancer) agent; specifically, an antimetabolite.
• Mechanism of Action: Capecitabine is a prodrug that is converted into the active chemical 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) inside the body, particularly within tumor cells. 5-FU then interferes with the synthesis of genetic materials (DNA and RNA), which slows the growth and eventually kills the cancer cells.
• Administration: It is taken orally, typically within 30 minutes after a meal, and should be swallowed whole (not crushed or chewed). The dosage and duration are determined by a doctor based on the specific type and stage of cancer. 

• Breast Cancer: Used for advanced or metastatic breast cancer, especially when other treatments have failed or are not indicated.
• Colorectal Cancer: Used for the treatment of colon and rectal cancers, including as an adjuvant treatment after surgery to reduce the risk of recurrence.
• Gastric (Stomach) Cancer and Esophageal Cancer: Used in advanced or metastatic cases, often in combination with other drugs.
• Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma: Used as an adjuvant treatment after surgery.
